Default Pizza Wontons vljohnson02 Started This Thread

I kinda altered this recipe together. I can't eat regular pizza because my stomach can't handle the crust, but these ones I have no problem with

1 pkg wonton wrappers
1 pkg Jimmy Dean (or whatever flavor) Sausage (cooked and crumbled)
Pizza Sauce
Pepperonis (chopped up)
Canadian Bacon (chopped up)
Mushrooms (chopped up)
Mozzarella Cheese

(or any other pizza ingredients you want in --- go crazy )

Place wontons in a mini muffin tin making a cup. Bake for five minutes at 350 degrees.

Meanwhile, mix the cooked sausage, pepperonis, canadian bacon, (whatever else) in a bowl and mix in some pizza sauce and some mozzarella cheese. When Wontons are done, take out of the oven and put some of the sauce mixture in to each cup and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake until cheese is melted. Serve with leftover pizza sauce

With this recipe, the wontons can even be cooked a few days in advance, just store in an area where they won't break It's also really easy to split up and make less or more which is nice too, and they aren't too bad the next day!

Thumbs Up Re: Pizza Wontons

OH. MY. GOD!
I absolutely love love love this recipe. I too adore pizza. Always have. I simply cannot tolerate the regular or pan crusts much anymore. I've had thin crusts a few times. I love the concept of using wonton wrappers. Genius actually and sounds very light, not sacrificing any taste for the lower carb treat.

Thanks for posting!

Jacquii.
