You are quite welcome - I do just recall the several convos we had in my pre-op class regarding pregnancy - and I just wanted to help provide you some info, because the doctor who gave you that "leary" feeling about pregnancy after WLS was blowing smoke

Hey there - I just saw you convo in the Chatbox. I've heard similar info as Kate has Kristina.

A couple of links I've just posted in the Chatbox:
Obviously you do want to consult with the professionals before drawing any conclusions. But from what you say the doctor has told you - I have to disagree with. I was even told in the pre-op classes I was required to take... Well there was more than a few conversations about the increased fertility rate amongst female post-ops. So... You may want to consult with another WLS professional to see what they say regarding your chances of pregnancey as a post-op

    Good luck.

    Kristina Marie,

Actually all the info I have says that after 1-2 years pregnancy is do-able

Here's web site that discusses it. The info is from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist

Pregnancy after Weight Loss Surgery: ACOG Issues New Guidelines |Weight Loss Surgery Channel

Pregnancy after Weight Loss Surgery: ACOG Issues New Guidelines
    The basic guidelines are:
--consult her bariatric surgeon at the beginning of her pregnancy,
--consult a nutritionist for advice on the physiological changes during pregnancy and schedule a wide-spectrum assessment for micronutrient deficiencies,
--wait 12 to 24 months after bariatric surgery before conceiving, and
--closely watch maternal weight and nutritional status, including regular ultrasounds to monitor fetal growth.
