Hi there!
I am 5 years out from lap RNY (June 2005). I had a bowel obstruction (open) in January of 2006, but am doing well otherwise. I started at 312, quickly lost to 145, and am now holding at between 155-160. I have a little more malabsorption than many patients do, but my doctor and I still keep in touch after labs to be sure everything is good.
I am married with two kids (college and high school), and I am a recent college grad myself. Since I no longer have school for an excuse, I have been exercising lately and am very proud of it! It has always been the one thing I truly cannot seem to stick to. Now on week 5, I think I am finding how to finally make it fit. It's very exciting for me!
Despite how things have gone for me, I do of course still have questions. And like all of us, I work on a daily basis to continue to listen to and understand my body. I look forward to meeting people here and figuring out this journey of ours together!
