Hi my name is Kim and I am a 37 year old wife and mom. I have just started basically on my journey. Due to insurance I had to be on a waiting list for 6 months just to be able to go to the seminar. Lastnight my husband and I went to the seminar and the first support group meeting. My dr already did some of my testing that they require while I was waiting to get into the seminar. I have already had my sleep study and pulmonary test done. I have my nutrition class and physical therapy class this coming Wednesday. I am at a lower weight then some at 217 but I have severe hypothyroidism, hypertension, asthma, high cholesterol, type II diabetes and the list goes on and on. I have been battling being overweight for most of my adult life. My doc has been after me to get this surgery done for the past few years so I finally decided the time was right especially since my health problems continue to get worse. All that I want is to be healthy. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here and learning lots of information. Thanks for having me.:blind:

Hi Kim and welcome to The Journey! We have a lot of info posted in the forums here, especially the WLS Articles (http://wlsjourney.org/community-forums/wls-articles/) section. WLS will go a long way in improving and/or even eliminating all the comorbidities you have. It's been said that WLS is almost a cure for Type II diabetes. So I know you will be looking forward to that!
