Enhancing Your WLSJourney.org Experience.

Now that you are an official Registered Member of The Journey Community Forums, what can you do to enhance your WLSJourney.org experience? Several things! Actually, as a Community which specializes in peer-to-peer WLS Support, we do tend to share more personal information than Members of other online interactive sites might share. Of course sharing your information is not required. However, through the sharing, The Journey experience may be more personalized as responses might be tailor-posted for your particular situation.

At anyrate - You are welcome to share as much or as little information as you are comfortable with. Each Member has complete control over what personal information is shared throughout the site. Below is a shortlist of common board preferences/features of interest to new Members.

In the left column of this post you will see the postbit information section which will appear on most all forum posts. The info you allow will also appear on your WLSJourney.org Profile page.
  1. Edit Your Details:
You will find a myriad of options you may customize on the "Edit Your Details" page, including your real name, your IM information, website url, surgery status & a host of other profile settings. The information you list here will be seen in the postbit information section of most all your forum posts, as well as on your WLSJourney.org Profile page. (example: http://wlsjourney.org/community-foru...ber/msjacquiic) This information is generally viewable by the public unless you choose to edit the privacy settings.

  2. Edit Options:
Your "Edit Options" page shows a comprehensive list of editable board options. Included is message notification, subscription & private message settings amongst others.

  3. Profile Privacy:
You may customize the permissions of those allowed to view certain blocks of your WLSJourney.org Profile. Click the link above to view the settings.

  4. Edit Profile Picture:
All Members can choose to upload a profile picture. Your picture must be a maximum of 300x300 pixels (width/height) and below 1MB in file size. Profile pictures are shown on your WLSJourney.org Profile page, with a mini-pixel thumbnail shown in The Journey Blogs.

  5. Edit Avatar:
All Members may choose an avatar to represent them on The Journey Community Forums.

    The Following Text Is Quoted:
An avatar is a computer user's representation of himself/herself or alter ego as a two-dimensional icon (picture) used on Internet forums and other communities...
We have several ready-uploaded avatars for you to select from. Alternatively you can upload your own avatar which must be 120x120 pixels or smaller and 43.9 KB in file size.

  6. Edit Signature:
Each WLSJourney.org Member may add a forum signature which will be shown in most all forum posts (if selected), all Journey Blog posts, and other parts of the forum. See Signature Rules for requirements & restrictions.

  7. Introduce Yourself To The Community:
Last but not least, once you've edited your settings, be sure to introduce yourself to the Community over at the Howdy Hi Introductions forum! We'd love to welcome you to The Journey in grand fashion and flare. So - please take the time to introduce yourself

So... Those are just a few things you might wanna check out after you have successfully registered & verified your email address. If you have any questions regarding any of the features/settings, Contact MsJacquiiC or any Member of The Journey Moderating Team and/or Open A Support Ticket We will be happy to assist!

Thank you. Welcome to The Journey. Enjoy & Happy posting!

Jacquii.
