I AM NOT GOING TO GIVE UP!!!!![/SIZE]

So I called yesterday to see where we are in all of the getting approved stuff. When I talked to my advocate she said that she had not received all of the stuff back form the doctors she said that they will not count 2009 and I have to have 5 years worth of weight history. I do not have that because when I did not have insurance I went to the ER and they do not do weight or I just did not go see a dr. She suggests trying the hospital again to see if they had anything. If not she wants me to write a letter stating the reason I do not have the 5 years. I did giver her pictures showing the last 5 years as well as now I have been diagnosed with the sleep apnea. So I am hoping that will help. I cried a lot yesterday and even asked her should I just give up she said no. So I am going to keep at it.

Here is how I feel! Last year they did not cover it al all ok so I moved on now they do cover it I have done everything I was told to do every doctor appt and the diet. I feel like it is in my reach but just far enough I can not grasp it. I told my husband how I have prayed for this and how it was like God said here you can have this you can have the desire of your heart oh wait no you can not. It is very hard not to lose faith. I need to have this done I do not want anymore leg pain or having to sleep with that machine. I want to enjoy my life and be active in it. I know that I am coming under attack with this but man it still hurts. I even was going to cancel going to a women?s conference that I had paid for because I just feel so bad but I am not I am going to go and pray hard and get refilled. I need that. My husband has been very supportive and was wonderful yesterday. He can be a real negative person sometimes but he was telling me do not give up. So I am not going to and I am going to beat this. I can see this. I can see the hospital stay and the day that I can step on the scale and see goal. I see that day I do not have to use the machine and can walk more then a few steps and not get winded. To play and be there for my grand baby, to be attractive to my husband again, intimacy is not real easy for me right now.

So here I am asking for a covering of prayer and good thoughts as well as encouragement. I want to one day be able to say I made it through and be there to help other make it through. Thank you all very much.

Aw Ronda

The road to getting WLS approved by insurance is often paved with hurdles Honey. They put out hoops for you to jump through to see if you will jump. I know this firsthand because I jumped through many many hoops of my own.

I'm not a praying person or I would offer you prayers. Instead I will offer you hope and positive thoughts that you will gain insurance approval! And yes - having co-morbids like sleep apnea and even joint pain due to your weight and high BMI - that's a good thing that the insurance companies will certainly take into consideration.

So keep up the good fight Girl and 3 cheers for perserverance and ultimate approval for your WLS!

Jacquii.

Hi Ronda,

When I was going through the process of getting my surgery approved, I had lots of problems from well, now you need a letter signed by a psychologist (turns out they never needed it), to they just plain missed me on the call back (I ended up calling them every other week to see where I was in the process), but my entire focus was on keeping going and if it was God's will for me, then it'll happen. And it will happen. So much has already happened for you because of God, this is just another one of those hoops that you'll have to go through like Jacqui said. If it's meant to be, it'll all work out for you. Keep going and keep faith. It's a long process, and for some people longer than others. From start to finish, mine was over a year. Other people in the same process as mine, waited six months. Frusterating yes? But in the end it's so worth it. I don't believe for a minute that I would be where I am today if I had just given up and said forget it, I'm not worth it. YOU ARE WORTH THE FIGHT! Keep on them for yourself!

Vanessa

Good luck Ronda, (((HUGS))). I too had to jump thru hoops as I have Medicare so its a lot of government red tape. Sometimes I felt like giving up but I had support from family and friends. It took me about 9 months to get to surgery so I considered it my REBIRTH, lol! Keep us posted hon! You can do it!

I'm on medicare as well - I was so huge at 438 pounds though that I was approved right away - it does help that my surgeon's office is meticulous about having all the paperwork in order. Anyway - yes - keep on keeping on and approval will be the result hopefully!

@ Vanessa - Is your blog one related to WLS? I'd love to see it if yes - it's invite only though - can you PM me an invite? Yeah yeah yeah - I'm just a bit nosey - but I'm a webgeek as well so...

Jacquii.
