Hi all !
I'm Sandrine I'm 35 years old and have huge troubles with my back, knees, heart,.... because off my weight :-(
I'm 1m55 high and weight 191 pounds (if the conversion from kilos to pounds is correct ahahaha) I have to lose about 77 pounds....
I'm enough with the "look alike old body" I'm a like a 70 years old and I'm fed up with all these troubles ! I decided a long time ago to have a lapband surgery.
I will meet for the first time my surgeon tomorrow and I really do hope she will say "yes" !! I have two young children and I really do hope soon I will be able to run with them in our huge garden and go up the stairs without suffering anymore!
Sorry for my weird english as I'm a french speaker ;-)
It's sometimes hard because I don't have someone to talk about it, my dear husband is I think a little bit "afraid" but does understand my decision ;-)
Well cross the fingers for me ;-) tomorrow is the d day LOL
Smooches
Sandrine

Hi Sandrine and welcome to THe Journey - Very nice to have you here from Belgium

I know what you mean about the body image thing. And WLS is not only help with good body image, but also with health issues as well. I personally had the lap roux-en-y back on April 28th this year. I didn't have any co-morbids at 33 - so that was a good thing.

I think your decision to have the lap-band is a good one. I'm not sure about the weight/height conversion either. I'm not sure what 1m55 is LOL - but I do know that any reputable surgeon will give you an honest opinion on whether your are or aren't a good candidate for the band.

I do wish you luck at your consult though! And do let us know what your prospective surgeon says! Again - Welcome, enjoy and Happy posting

Jacquii.

Hey Sandrine - I saw you Facebook post and replied there so I'll copy/paste the response I made

Well - from what I gather the both are adjustable gastric banding surgerys - just 2 different companies. I'll look into that a little later and post a thread about the comparison. In the meantime - feel free to browse the current threads I've posted: The Realize Band AND The Lap Band Procedure
