Hello My name is Marquita. I am new to this so hopefully I can get the hang of it. I had RNY Gastric Bypass 12-17-09 and have lost 102 pounds so far. Best thing I have done for myself. Very happy with the results except my bat wings (extra skin on the arms)......lol I have about 50-55 pounds more to lose and hopefully get some skin removed then, if insurance will pay for it.

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass A type of gastric bypass procedure which combines restrictive and malabsorption techniques - meaning, it reduces the amount of food a patient can comfortably eat (restriction), and also reduces the amount of calories that can be digested in the small intestine (malabsorption). Hey Marquita and welcome to The Journey! 102 pounds is wonderful progress - I think you may mean December 2008 as your surgery date though - cause December 2009 has not happened upon us yet has it?!?!?

Anyway - the dreaded batwings hmmmm. I tell you - there may be some insurance companies that cover that - I think a friend of mine was saying that she may require some plastics and that her primary will help get it approved by her insurance. Just have to ask and find out I guess
