My name is Ronda Kay , I am new to the site. I live in the great state of Texas I am 38 and married for 2 years. I have two wonderful step sons and a new grand baby. I am pre op and am holding on to have this done. I am having gastric by pass. I have done all of my pre op appointments so now I am going to see if I have lost the 10 pounds I was told to which has been hard because I get so hungry the diet is hard to stick to. I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing this journey.

Congratulations on starting the journey! I had my surgery about 7 months ago, and I feel like I have given myself a great gift! You will be so happy to have more energy to be an active grandma!

Oh yeah - and simply being around for your grandbaby is incentive enough to go forward with the gastric bypass. So yes - Welcome to The Journey Community Forums Ronda! We are a very new community - so tis a bit slow around these parts. I think that will change as the memberbase grows though.

Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass A type of gastric bypass procedure which combines restrictive and malabsorption techniques - meaning, it reduces the amount of food a patient can comfortably eat (restriction), and also reduces the amount of calories that can be digested in the small intestine (malabsorption).
