Yup - plateaus are normal and just like Kate analogized in an early post - it's kinda like your body catching up with itself and taking just a bit of a breather.
But Lauryn - I've always been told that weightloss is a simple mathematic equation: less calories in, more calories burned = weightloss. I believe the "normal" recommended pre-op diet consists of 1940 calories per day for women and 2550 for men. Post-op diets are generally up to 1400 calories. So think of it like this ==> eating so few calories as 1000 - 1400 per day - the weight has nothing else to do BUT fall off.
Sometimes it may take it's sweet time (kinda like me getting around to responding to posts LOL) - but it will happen. Just keep following the guidelines your surgeon has put forth for you and you will succeed.
And it's as simple as that! And no need to worry
Jacquii.
BTW - 50 lbs in 7 weeks is
PHENOMENAL! Congratulations.
