Hi Lynn and Maryann,
The hairloss is a scary thing, but I think it is part of the body's reaction to the stress that surgery and a big change in diet and lifestyle can bring.
Make sure you keep up the
protein. I knew that this was what seemed to help other WLS people who were facing this problem. I made sure to always eat a good amount of protein each day and I had very little hairloss. It may sound extreme to some but I ate between 60-90 grams of protein daily. I used shakes to supplement what I couldn't eat since I have a Lap Band.
I hope this helps

Protein provides 4 calories per gram and is found in foods like meat, fish, poultry, eggs, dairy products, beans, nuts, and tofu.
Proteins are an essential human nutrient, obtained from both plant and animal foods. Though their greatest commercial use is in food products, they are also employed in adhesives, plastics, and fibres. |
