Hey Tracy - I was told to not do any heavy lifting (30 lbs or more) until 4 weeks after surgery. I suppose it's a bit different for everyone really, but the risk is that you could pull groin muscle or get a hernia from the lifting. I'd say if you are healing quite well - 1-2 weeks should be good for you. Ask your surgeon to see what his specific recommendation is though
